As an addendum to Karen Fung's report, for those who may try to see this bird. . . this morning, the Tufted Duck continued in Huntington Harbor. It appeared at 6:58 at the police docks and flew off at 7:07. It circled around and landed in the southern end of the harbor, where it was present for almost an hour. It later moved around, and was relocated on the western shore of the harbor, just north of the West Shore Marina. It was last seen from this location when it flew off to the NW at 8:25, presumably heading toward the Sound.

The Spotted Sandpiper continues across the harbor from the Gold Star Battalion Beach. An adult Lesser Black-backed Gull was also present with a large flock of Ring-bills in the southeast corner of the harbor.

Good birding,
    Michael McBrien
