Hello all,

Joined the Queens County bird club at Point lookout today with leader John
Collins (THANKS JOHN!!!).  We had common eider, blank and white-winged scoter,
horned grebe and more usual suspects.  We had purple sandpipers, none of them
landed by us, only fly bys.  Also most of the group had a swift look at a
razorbill, but I missed that one, darn!!  It was right at the last jetty on the
beach.  No harlequins.

Jones beach yielded Horned larks and goldfinches feeding on pine seeds.
Otherwise quiet around lunch time.

After that I went solo and decided to explore Jamaica Bay in search of the
Yellow-Breasted Chat reported on Ebird on Thursday.
I got  yellow rumped warbler
a bufflehead female on the west pond

carolina wren
grey catbird
a cedar waxwing
hairy woodpecker and
yellow-breasted chat in the South Garden just as I had given up on it.  A nice
life bird which I missed last year.
