In addition to the expected waterfowl and other birds, a trip to Buckhorn 
Island SP today yeilded 2 Great Horned Owls (one called, another responded), 1 
Common Redpoll and 1 White-winged Crossbill. The owls were not in the park 
proper, but somewhere to the south. Both finches were feeding on Alder cones on 
the ground at the concrete bridge crossing what I believe is Woods Creek.

That being said, anyone heading to Buckhorn Island should keep in mind the 
trails were largely covered in ice and pretty slippery.
