------------

At last a great week at Derby Hill (unless you could only go Saturday or
Sunday). Monday through Friday there were over a thousand rapters each day with
a grand total this week of 7,419. MERLIN and KESTREL were especially good this
week.

Oswego County
------------

4/16: The first for the region UPLAND SANDPIPER was seen at the Oswego
County Airport on Howard Road. An apparent mate showed up on 4/19.
4/17: An extremely rare for the region BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER was
found at Sunset Bay Park on Lake Ontario. Unfortunately it turned out to be a
one day wonder as efforts to relocate the nest day were fruitless.
4/20: An EURASIAN WIGEON was seen on the Lakewatch from Phillips Point on
Oneida Lake. it was also seen on 4/21. Also seen on the 20th. were BLACK
SCOTERS. Eventually during this week all three SCOTERS were seen migrating
across the Lake. Other notable migrants seen this week were COMMON LOONS,
BONAPARTE’S GULLS and LONG-TAILED DUCKS.

4/17: A FOS LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH was seen on Cedervale Road east of
Marcellus. A SANDHILL CRANE was seen at Three Rivers WMA north of Baldwinsville.

in Syracuse.
4/22: A GRASSHOPPER SPARROW was found south of Potter Road in Three Rivers
WMA north of Baldwinsville. A FOS INDIGO BUNTING was seen on the ESF campus of
Syracuse University.
