The American Avocet found at Jones Beach State Park Coast Guard Station
sand spit by Bob Anderson, hung around for about an hour before being
chased off by a Peregrine Falcon that strafed the spit 3 or 4 times,
finally the American Avocet had enough and flew off toward the Loop Parkway
draw bridge.
