The Lark Sparrow continues in the formerly described area along the dirt
road to the Fire Island lighthouse. At one point (shortly after 7:45 AM)
it flew a considerable distance to the east when disturbed by a loud
trundling vehicle, dropping in by the housing complex with the red
roofs. But I just got word from Joan Quinlan that it has returned to its
favored spot west of the lighthouse driveway.

While there was almost no visible migration detectable overhead,
the puckerbrush was very active this morning at the east end of the
boardwalk from Field 5 (near the hawkwatch). Among the nice variety of
migrants (and an obvious influx of sparrows) was a beautiful
Clay-colored Sparrow.
