Fellow Birders;
    I once again got out to my local Kissena Corridor in Flushing late this
morning-- overall activity was a bit slower than yesterday, although the
species count was similar. With some work I relocated the western-type Palm
Warbler, this time in paths along the community garden on the Colden St side of
the corridor. Accidental bird-baths attracted many birds, most of them
goldfinches and sparrows, but Palm and Common Yellowthroat were seen with
patience. No Olive-sided FC today. Cedar Waxwing numbers were high.
Additions to yesterday's list were Ruby-throated Hummingbird (male), a
cooperative Least Flycatcher, and a female Scarlet Tanager. No good sparrows
today.
    By the way, if you would like to join me, contact me the night before-- if
left to my own devices, I will sleep in, as medication makes me tired unless I
have a specific reason to wake up. I plan to visit the same area each of the
next three days, at least. Parking spots are easy to find at the 150th St
entrance, off Booth Memorial. I can walk there, or drive if I plan to visit
another part of the park (I'm still ticked that I missed the Bell's Vireo!).
Hope to see many of you in the field.
Cheers,
