  The Buffalo Bird Report is a service provided by your
  Buffalo Museum of Science and the Buffalo Ornithological
  Society. To contact the Science Museum, call 896-5200. Press
  the pound key to report sightings before the end of this
  report.

  Reports received September 19 through September 26 from the
  Niagara Frontier Region.

  September 23 on the Niagara Peninsula of Ontario, a BUFF-BR.
  SANDPIPER at a sod farm in Dunnvile. Located on Hutchinson
  Road just north of Poth Road. Also, 8 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS,
  PECTORAL SANDPIPER, 20 KILLDEER and numbers of HORNED LARKS.

  Other shorebirds on the peninsula - SOLITARY SANDPIPER,
  LESSER YELLOWLEGS, SANDERLING, SEMIPALM. SANDPIPER, PECTORAL
  SANDPIPER, DUNLIN and WILSON'S SNIPE.

  From the Iroquois Refuge this week - an impressive count of
  12 sub-adult BALD EAGLES at Ring-neck Marsh. Five SANDHILL
  CRANES, including one juvenile, continue at Kumpf Marsh on
  Route 77, with BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER and AMERICAN GOLDEN-
  PLOVER. In the Oak Orchard Wildlife Management Area, up to
  188 GREAT EGRETS gathering between Stafford and Windmill
  Marsh. And, RUSTY BLACKBIRDS throughout the refuge areas.

  After the rain and cold front last weekend, migrant fallouts
  were noted on the following days. Listed in a North Buffalo
  yard - PHILADELPHIA VIREO, RED-EYED VIREO, RUBY-CR. KINGLET,
  NASHVILLE WARBLER, BL.-THR. GREEN WARB., SONG SPARROW and
  SCARLET TANAGER. In a North Boston field, 8 EASTERN
  BLUEBIRDS, 4 NORTHERN FLICKERS, 13 EASTERN PHOEBES and
  several warbler species. On Francis Road in Bethany, 2
  EASTERN WOOD-PEWEES, 2 RUBY-CR. KINGLETS and 4 BLACKPOLL
  WARBLERS.  And, WHITE-CR. SPARROWS at several locations.

  Also this week - eight L. BLACK-B. GULLS continue at the
  east end of the Lewiston hydro reservoir. And, lingering at
  feeders - RUBY-T. HUMMINGBIRD in North Boston and BALTIMORE
  ORIOLE in West Seneca.

  The Bird Report will be updated Thursday evening, October 3.
