Hi Everyone, Today I birded from sunrise to sunset: Jones Beach, Point Lookout, Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, St John's Pond in Cold Spring Harbor, Huntington Harbor, Centerport, Lloyd Harbor, Caumsett St Park, Target Rock National Wildlife Refuge and a few other nearby locations. Although a lot of places were eerily silent, I saw 47+ species - highlights were:
Snowy Owl at Green Island in Wantagh, (gave him plenty of space) ~12 Common Eiders, ~6 Black Bellied Plovers at Point Lookout Town Park by the jetties 8 Snow Geese at Jamaica Bay East Pond (was told a huge flock took off right before I arrived), 6 Canvasbacks in Centerport Pond, Common and Red Throated Loons at Target Rock Wildlife Refuge.
