Dear All,

Thanks to those who sent ideas and directions to see the snowy owl at
Floyd Bennet. After hitting a wall of traffic for the last hour and
transporting two not-so-much-birders-beginning-to-get-bored friends we were
able to get into the Field and start narrowing down where the bird might
be. I was driving and weaving while looking into what I thought was the
right field, and my two companions were now not just skeptical, but
nervous. Finally I shouted there's the bird! All they saw were a bunch of
white plastic bags in the field and could not discern which might be a bird
and which would not. I had my doubts too if I was mistaken (how many times
dear Lord have I called a branch or telephone pole gearing a hawk....).
But it was the bird and she/he was glorious!

   Thanks again!

      Yours,

      LoraKim Joyner
