Marine Nature Study Area, Oceanside 2 April

Both GREAT EGRET and SNOWY EGRET were feeding in the marsh this morning. An
adult LITTLE BLUE HERON flew by in the distance. A few GREATER YELLOWLEGS were
scattered around. OSPREY pairs were seen on two nest platforms and a PEREGRINE
FALCON was seen atop the nest box in the marsh (there are now 4 eggs visible in
the cam). Little else of note.

Work on the replacement boardwalk continues as well as for the display sign
housings destroyed by Sandy. (Fortunately the displays themselves were removed
in advance of the storm). Looking forward to an improved updated facility.
