Nickerson Beach 20 May A single BLACK SKIMMER flew into the tern colony (500+ birds there and on the beach). To the west on the beach, a pair of GULL-BILLED TERNS mated. Maybe they'll nest in the colony. SANDERLING were along the shore, an OSPREY was fishing just beyond the breakers and a PIPING PLOVER was in the vicinity of a cage on the upper beach. Windy, but a beautiful day. Sy Schiff
