Today I spotted a Eurasian Collared-dove at Dyckman Fields, next to Inwood
park at the northern end of Manhattan. The bird was in heavy tail molt, but
its large size, unspotted wings, and distinctively patterned tail were
clearly visible.
Perhaps not very worth chasing following the long-staying bird in Chelsea,
but a cool bird nonetheless and suggesting that collared-doves may soon be
in NYC to stay.
Very bad but clearly identifiable cell phone photos here.
