The Barrow's Goldeneye continues on the north shore but west of Sands Point Preserve. Four of us, Ed Becher, Bob Anderson, Bob Berlingeri and myself , Bob Proniewych, braved the cold and wind and traveled to the north shore which felt more like the north pole. A search near Sands Point did not turn up the Goldeneye, but after a half mile hike to the west we struck gold. The drake Barrow's was actively feeding with a small group of 6-8 Common Goldeneyes.
