Found a male Canvasback hanging out with small crowd of Gadwall on the rocks at the little beach at Pier 4 ruins in Brooklyn Bridge Park this afternoon. First time I've seen one here. Bright white body, with those fantastic red eyes! Seemed pretty tolerant of holiday scamps & leashed dogs on the beach. I will post pictures on my blog soon/later.
