There was a different first-winter Common/Mew (not certain of subspecies yet)
roosting with ~ 400 RBGU and 1 BOGU on Veteran's Memorial Pier in Brooklyn
(Kings County) this morning. First seen about 11:20 it was on the pier for
about 10 minutes before taking off and flying (more like sailing in the stiff
NE wind) towards Staten Island where I eventually lost it. I spent another 15
minutes shivering to see if it would return but it did not. I will post
pictures ASAP.
