I forgot to mention that the Rochester bird is similar in appearance to the one-day wonder dark Gyrfalcon found by Dave Kennedy in Seneca Falls on 1/29, but given that this appears to be an "invasion" year for this species in the northeast, it's quite possible that it's a different individual.
