The New York State Ornithological Association (NYSOA) is offering a field trip to the Intervale Lowlands Preserve in Lake Placid in the Adirondacks on the weekend of 16-17 May 2015. The weekend will start with an optional bird walk at Bloomingdale Bog on 16 May, and that afternoon Larry Master will give a presentation on the history and natural history of the Intervale Lowland Preserve. The main event will be a bird walk at the preserve on 17 May, where we hope to see Black-backed Woodpecker, Lincoln’s Sparrow, and many of the 17 species of warbler that breed here. Visit the NYSOA web site (www.nybirds.org) for more information including instructions about how to register for the trip.
