The staging Oystercatchers at the West End (Jones Beach) Coast Guard "island" 
have been at least temporarily replaced by Black Skimmers -- at least 300. I 
started counting and reached 120 when kayakers flushed the flick, which 
dispersed.
Earlier, at 3:45, the (quite bright) Dickcissel was conspicuous at the picnic 
area at Field 2, Robert Moses State Park. It was perched up like a shrike. 
Neither the Clay-colored nor the Lark Sparrow was in evidence, at an admittedly 
suboptimal hour to be looking for them.
