For anyone that needs to see more, I've posted a picture of the flycatcher
at my web site http://stevewalternature.com/ .

On my way back through Queens, I took a spin around Flushing Meadow Lake. No
birds of note, but something of interest. At the south end of the lake,
there is work in progress, accompanied by a sign saying "Habitat Restoration
and Stormwater Treatment at Meadow Lake -- Anticipated Completion: Winter
2006". We'll see what that leads to down the road.

It's been a while since there's been a major rarity in my neck of the woods
in Queens. For now, the best I can do is a run of the mill rarity -- which
means not really rare at all. An uncommon-ty? The most recent is an
Orange-crowned Warbler at Douglaston Marsh Saturday.
