Having heard of the Tern sightings at Kingston Point, I stopped in on my way south last night. I arrived at approx. 6:15PM and was able to immediately see 11 of the reported 13 Caspian Terns. Additionally, I had 10 Common Terns, of which 8 were mid river flying northward in a loose group and 2 Bonapartes Gulls. It was a nice end to the day. I believe that the Caspians and possibly 1 or 2 Commons spent the night. See Birds, Curt McDermott

There were 13 at Kingston Point (Ulster County), 1 at New Baltimore (Greene Co.); 2 at Coeymans Landing (Albany County); 1 at Cohoes Flats (Albany/Saratoga Co.) and 1 at Collins Lake (Saratoga County). Also, two Black Terns were at Coeymans Landing, and 1 at Crescent ( Mohawk River - Albany Co.). And keeping with the tern theme: 12 Common Terns at Cohoes Flats as well. Let's see if this lingers into tomorrow or if these migrants move on (with an interesting ternover to follow).
