That should of course be RT27 / Sunrise Highway, not I495. The long stretch of Pine Barren Habitat stretching down towards the Hampton bays exit.

Saw the bird pretty well but wasn't expecting it and I flipped from Broad-wing (when flapping) to Peregrine (when it turned) in quick succession before the thought of kite occurred to me. In retrospect it seems pretty likely that that is what it was. I know the location and dates are all wrong, but can't really make anything else fit his bird. Just putting it out there in case anyone is in the area tomorrow. -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
