Greetings: This is the Syracuse Rare Bird Alert for the week of October 10, 
2015.
Highlights--------------
CACKLING GOOSEBRANTGREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSEEURASIAN WIGEONWHITE-WINGED 
SCOTERBAIRD’S SANDPIPERWHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERSTILT SANDPIPERLONG-BILLED 
DOWITCHERGRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH
Montezuma National Wildlife Complex (MNWC) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex 
(MWC)------------  
     12 species of Shorebirds were reported from the complex this week. Again 
all were reported either from the Visitor’s Center or along the Wildlife Drive. 
WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER, LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER and STILT SANDPIPER continue to 
hang around.     10/15: A male EURASIAN WIGEON was seen in the main pool. It 
was seen again today./14:      10/17: A LINCOLN’S SPARROW was seen along the 
Wildlife Drive near the carp barrier.

Cayuga County------------
     10/17: 51 BRANT were seen at Fair Haven State Park. One appears to be 
injured. A BAIRD’S SANDPIPER was also seen.

Onondaga County------------
     10/11: A CACKLING GOOSE was reported from Beaver Lake.     10:14: A late 
YELLOW-THROATED VIREO was seen on the Erie Canal Trail near Fayetteville.     
10/16: A GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH was found at the Kirkville Pools Brook picnic area.


Oswego County------------
     10/11: 2 LINCOLN’S SPARROWS were seen on the wooded trails at Derby Hill.  
   10/16: A GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH was seen on Hinman Road.

Madison County------------
     10/13: A pair of WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS were seen on Bradley Brook 
Reservoir.     10/16: A GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE was spotted on Woodman 
Pond. It was seen multiple times this past week but was missed today.
