At least one American Bittern was observed at Tobay Beach’s JFK Memorial Wildlife Sanctuary, judging by timing and takeoff location it could’ve been two individuals. I also had a rapidly-glimpsed hawk taking off through the trees between the lot and the hidden pond: based on proportions, size, and flight style it certainly looked like it could’ve been the reported Red-shouldered Hawk. Views were too brief and too obscured to be certain, but someone might want to follow up. A light morph Rough-leg was also perched in the median near Cedar Beach Marina.
