It was a quiet Sunday afternoon until I checked the listserve and found Tim Healy's post re: the Buff-breasted Sandpiper he found earlier today at the DeLalio Sod Farm on the e/s of Doctor's Path in Riverhead - thanks Tim, for my first of the season ! Within an hour & a quarter I had seen the BBSA (3:55 PM), picked up 6 Least Sandpipers working the Delea Sod Farm on the s/s Sound Ave, between Doctor's Path & Roanoke Ave...and was back home doing chores !
