Today was a 3 😆😉😊 day for us !

The first occurred in Mineola when the Chaminade J.V. Football Team beat
St.Francis Prep. Our #3 grandson, sophomore Brendan Connors, plays right
guard on the offensive line...and does a good job !

The 2nd took place in Garden City while enjoying a celebratory family
lunch, and yes, Brendan sure had worked up an appetite !

The 3rd happened back in Riverhead, when, after dropping off my non-birding
wife at home, I checked all the sod farms located between Route 105 on the
east and Osborn Ave to the west. The only one that had any shorebirds was
the Delea field, on the s/s of Sound Ave, about half way between Doctors
Path and Roanoke Ave. Actively feeding were 8 large plovers, which I took
to be Black-bellied, 4 Least Sandpipers and 3 Buff-breasted Sandpipers -
the time was ~ 1700-1730.

Cheers,
Bob
