The Queens County Bird Club will be meeting at the Alley Pond Environmental
Center, 228-06 Northern Blvd Douglaston, NY 11362 >Map of location<
<http://goo.gl/8cnmjT> at 8:00 pm this Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Free
admission. Refreshments served.

The presentation topic is “Chimney Swifts and People”. John Connors, a Long
Island native who currently manages the Chimney Swift Research Project with
Audubon and the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, will share his
experiences and research on this incredible, high-flying species. It is very
difficult for most of us to observe Chimney Swift behavior in the field except
when they are soaring high overhead. But John has amazing photo and videos of
their nesting and roosting behavior. Plus, he will update us on the success of
the artificial roosts that he has designed and constructed.
