Highlights on a cold & sunny Thanksgiving: Red-shouldered Hawk, Bald Eagle, 
Barred Owl, Purple Finches.


Canada Goose - 76+ (12 Lake, 2 doz migrants in southbound "V", 40+ Reservoir)
Wood Duck - 3 females Turtle Pond
Northern Shoveler - low numbers (2 Turtle Pond, a few others on the Lake)
Mallard - 20 Lake
Bufflehead - pair south side Reservoir
Mourning Dove - 7 
American Coot - 3 SW Reservoir
Herring, Ring-billed & Great Black-backed Gulls(fewer than 40 Reservoir 8:30am)
Cooper's Hawk - 1 first-cycle (immature) male west side of Great Lawn
Red-shouldered Hawk - first-cycle flyover Turtle Pond
Red-tailed Hawk - 3 local birds
Bald Eagle - first-cycle transition to 2nd-cycle southbound east side Great 
Lawn (Deb & David Barrett)
Barred Owl - continues 
Red-bellied Woodpecker - 4
Downy Woodpecker 2 (feeders & Shakespeare Garden)
Blue Jay - 15 to 20
Black-capped Chickadee - 5
Tufted Titmouse - 25-30 (10 at Evodia Field feeders this morning)
Red-breasted Nuthatch - 2 (Pinetum & feeders)
White-breasted Nuthatch - 5
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - SW Great Lawn
Hermit Thrush - 4
American Robin - 20 in crab apples various locations
Northern Mockingbird - Sparrow Rock
Cedar Waxwing - at least 20 (flock of 20 Sparrow Rock, 5 Gill Overlook)
House Finch - male at feeders
Purple Finch - 4 (2 females near Upper Love, male & fem. Gill Overlook 
(Soumyajit))
American Goldfinch - 11-12
Fox Sparrow - 4 Ramble
Song Sparrow - reported at Pinetum
White-throated Sparrow - 75-100
Dark-eyed Junco - 20
Red-winged Blackbird - immature male perched above Winterdale Arch
Common Grackle - 100+ (5 or 6 south of Azalea Pond, flock of around 100 E. of 
East Drive circa 75th Street)
Northern Cardinal - 3
