First really cold day. A change for land birds. The most interesting was
a WHITE-EYED VIREO that allowed for a quick photo. Other first of the season at
this place were RUBY and GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS. A HERMIT THRUSH continues.
Lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers and a dozen Swamp Sparrows along the trails.
The marshes had Both Yellowlegs, both Egrets, a Great Blue Heron, a
flyover Black-crowned Night-Heron and little else. The resident Belted
Kingfisher was reported. Brant are in and Cormorants continue to fly over.
