In addition to the Coopers, there are eagles (including a juvenile) and harriers working to pond and the fields, and sadly also at least two feral cats...and it seems that the fox den on the Peconic Land Trust field is occupied as well... and maybe the song sparrows are simply molting??

Any theories on that? There is a coopers hanging out in the area, but I'm guessing it would have to be pretty inept to have chased 2 song sparrows with nothing more than 2 tails to show for it. An hour later in Bridgehampton Commons, I had my first fish crow of the season.
