This is in reference to the gull first noted and reported by J. Nance in 
Fairfield County, Connecticut on Friday 3/18.  See the extensive notes and 
photos included in his eBird checklist report, linked below - for the 
Slaty-backed Gull, and why it just may be the bird that had caused quite a stir 
for many hundreds of observers in Central Park (Manhattan, N.Y. City) some many 
days ago… and this could also beg the question, where had this gull been 
languishing un-noticed for a good while in the interim from then to this 
Friday?  (that is, on an assumption it is that same very-rare gull.)

Acting as messenger on this latest, I was not present for the CT sighting on 
3/18; multiple other CT-birders were, however.
