Don't miss the next QCBC monthly meeting featuring "Spring Hawk Migration - In
the Northeast and Above Us" by QCBC member Steve Walter. The meeting will be
held on Wednesday, March 20th at 7:30 PM at the Alley Pond Environmental
Center, 229-10 Northern Blvd, Douglaston, NY  11362.

As this year’s migration ramps up, Steve will talk about the dynamics of spring
hawk movements in the Northeast, with a particular focus on the New York metro
area and his own Alley Creek Hawk Watch in Queens County.

Steve is a long-time naturalist on Long Island, having included in his
pursuit's flora study, dragonfly migration, butterfly distribution, and the
surveying of moth populations at several sites. He applies his expertise in
these fields as a consultant with a non-profit organization in Nassau County.
Steve is also a long-time birder, with a particular passion for hawks. He is a
life member of the Hawk Migration Association of North America, having written
for its journal as a regional editor and currently serving on its Winter Raptor
Survey committee.

Please arrive early since the front door must be locked after the meeting
starts.
