This afternoon, while birding Linear Park at the end of McDonald Road, I had
an abundance of birds. The neatest thing about it was that a huge Quince bush
located about sixty feet off the trail had more birds than I have ever seen in
one blooming bush. Eleven Baltimore Orioles, One Orchard Oriole, four
Ruby-throated Hummingbirds and one Gray Catbird! I could only see one side of
this huge bush and can only imagine what might have been on the other side.
The blooming Apple trees along the trail had many feeding warblers. Nashville,
Blue-winged, Canada, Chestnut-sided, American Redstart, Yellow and Common
Yellowthroat among them. I was told by people already there that a Gold-winged
Warbler had been seen as well as Indigo Buntings, but I missed these birds.
