I've used Zen Cart before - its a hell learning curve.
Zen Cart is huge, its a shopping mall not just a cart.
Most people would never use half of the available functions.

The good:
Lots of templates available
Lots of Payment Modules

The Bad:
Sheer size and complexity.
Hard for non-geeks to understand the stock control and back end in general

The Ugly:
Many of the Modules and themes need hacking because they only "nearly work"
