Zend Platform is fine for low traffic but once it starts getting  
loaded up with moderately complex scripts you can run into cache  
problems causing sporadic fatal errors.  Zend support weren't able to  
fix the issues within the time frame we needed so we switched to APC -  
no more problems, and load went down on the webservers.

Note - I haven't tried it again since early this year, so they may  
have since fixed the problems.
