Hi Nick,

In my experience with compiling my own PHP for Leopard 64bit (Mac  
OSX), lots of extensions just don't support 64bit.
Not sure if they are 64bit on redhat but just my 2c.

I can't remember whether I ended up getting 64bit working or not.
