Thanks Mark, and Robert.

I guess the problem I have is more of a general 'don't understand enough
about Linux' problem. I'll start off by googleing for "install ffmepg
centos" and clicking on the first few forum threads and following the
instructions. Sometimes you get good instructions, other times you have
to piecemeal the instructions together from a few places.

The problem this time was actually the rpm command "rpm -Uvh
http://example.com/foo.rpm"; - for whatever reason it was throwing some
error and I needed to use "wget http://example.com/foo.rpm"; first, which
took some time to research.

Was also getting some dependency errors during the yum upgrade, but
these seemed to be related to other packages. It's good to be able to
ask someone if these sorts of errors / warnings are anything to worry about.

In this case, it's a commercial project with this being on the critical
path so I'd rather pay someone to ask them questions on the spot rather
than wait for a response in a forum. I just find that installing
anything on Linux is never as easy as "yum install _____" and there's
always issues that need to be worked through.

In this case I'm all up and running, but thanks for getting back to me
promptly.

Harvey.
