I've been using basicstate.com and just got alerted about about a couple of
sites hosted @ Telstra.

Even http://www.telstraclear.co.nz/ is down ATM! - at least I know the
alerts are working.

As for SMS i've been using a vodafone email2txt service and with basicstate
you can choose to have email alerts sent in a txt format, which is nice.
