mailchimp is awesome!! and I recently discovered the API (which I haven't had a chance to play with yet!) so you can make it talk to many different systems, like Drupal etc.
It is slightly pricey though, our list is just over 10,000 people and it costs us USD$127.50/month and that is with the charity discount already included!
