I'm in Dunedin and use www.snap.net.nz both at home and work, plus 2talk.co.nz for my phone number. Was with Orcon but they don't offer naked DSL in Dunedin (will be quite a while by he looks of things). Can't comment on service yet as it's only been a month but so far I have no reason to gripe.
Their current plans are either 10 or 20GB per month, at which point you have to manually buy more chunks of data or you get throttled back to 64kbps. If this happens you buy a chunk (via their website) and you're instantly back on full speed (~3.5Mbps in the 'burbs, 10Mbps in the CBD). The charging plan didn't suit us at work at all and Snap have been happy to arrange a pay-for-what-you-eat plan for us. Bandwidth is $2/GB so not best if you're a heavy heavy user.
