Off topic but I just thought I would share this. Windows users go here for a process monitor replacement for the windows task manager. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx You can straight away see what is taking up CPU cycles and even mouse over the graph. Nice. I was getting massive CPU load during idle time and straight away was able to identify that Google desktop had a rundll that vainly was trying to index Microsofts entangled Vista rubbish folders. Uninstalling that proved it.
(Incidentally at the risk of being labelled a ranter/flamer, I would not be surprised if Microsoft are deliberately trying to foil any attempts at defining content on a physical level, so they can keep control of the metadata game. Call me paranoid but they have a long history of this kind of competitiveness, which is inevitably at the user's expense. Hell I can't even rename a user area let alone re-locate (=mount) it. I haven't used Windows 7 but for all its performance enhancements I would lay money that they haven't allowed user files (=my bloody content, not theirs!) to be separable.
