Hi, Same dilemma everywhere i guess. Hosting prices in US both in terms of bandwidth and server cost is lower than most places.
Hosting locally provides 3 advantages. 1. Lesser latency - Users can browse site tad bit faster 2. Search engine rankings for local searches - search engines are "rumored" to rank locally hosted website higher for local searches 3. Support advantages - local support, same time zone, quicker responses. However all the advantages are negated by the higher cost of hosting locally in most cases. And i still cant recollect many hosting companies who can offer a good support. 100k visitors tells me you are on a dedicated server, which means your best bet is still a company like rackspace, theplanet etc etc. Having said you could try hosting images and other assets on amazon backed CDN and only use local hosting for core app, if the costing now comes down to same as US or lesser you are good to go. Just be careful, if you have a good experience with your current host, or even a reasonable one, you should stick with it.
