Hi everyone, a short wrap up of last nights PHP meetup.
Firstly, thanks to our sponsors: Amnesty International, who have kindly provided us with the room and Internet. Amnesty are advocating on behalf of victims of human rights abuse worldwide. If you want to check out one of their current campaigns, please go here: http://www.amnesty.org.nz/get-involved/donate/comfort-women-appeal Digital Productions have kindly filmed the event for us again. Digital productions are your go to video production company, especially for web videos. They can turn your camera stills or stock photography into a 90 seconds video with professional voice over or film your CEO for internal staff announcements and other PR activity. I'm hearing they are also keen on filiming your boxing fights. To know more go here: http://www.digitalproductions.co.nz The main presentation was about Magento Commerce and the speaker was Robert from http://www.lero9.co.nz This was a great overview of the Magento architecture and we've had quite a good insight into the administrtion backend and the general architecture of Magento. We also had the pleasure of hearing about how Harvey Kane from http://www.ragepank.co.nz worked and travelled through Europe with his family of 2 kids, while keeping his clients in Auckland happy. Check out what was in his 14kg bag of computer gear in the video below: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/2699300 This was the last meetup for this year, the next meetup is scheduled for 17 March 2010 and the topic will be PHP and Google Maps Merry Christmas!
