Yes, I do exactly the same with my primary clement dot co dot nz domain name. The domain (GnuZealand dot com) this email is from simply forwards my mail to my older gmail account. In both cases cron runs fetchmail to download all mail my home server so I have my own copy of everything. I'm sufficiently old school that when it comes to computer gear I trust nothing I can't kick. I also run all my incoming mail through a filter I wrote in php that extracts important information from automated emails I get from some of my suppliers. > But then I > guess you mean if you have an @gmail.com type email address, in which > case I would agree it is extremely unprofessional. > Yep, IMO @hotmail is even worse. mostly because I trust Google marginally more than I trust Microsoft ... but then with every press release the gap narrows. I don't treat anyone trying to do business from a hotmail address seriously. Bruce -- Bruce Clement When a co-worker said he didn't want his kids getting the H1N1 vaccine because it was too new and "they haven't tested it enough", I blurted out something like, "So you'd rather test a new and poorly understood virus on them instead?" I'm not entirely proud of fighting vague and irrational fear of the unknown by invoking vague and irrational fear of the unknown, but I think it did make an impression. Petréa Mitchell
