Hello there. I would like to enable security on a website that I have - which hosts a wordpress blog. At present the website has no SSL certificate installed on itself.
I would like to be able to restrict access to my website to users possessing a valid (Issued By: Company X) client certificate held in Internet Explorer. The objective of this security check is to prevent people outside of a company accessing the content. As this is a hosted site, I cannot change all the configuration files on the server – only the .htaccess files – which I can access directly via FTP. MediaTemple, the hoster, uses Apache as its web server. Through my research, I think the solution is to use the commands SSLCA – but I don't understand how to change these settings. Another solution I thought of involved getting a certificate for my site that is signed by the same certificate as the one on the users computers – but I don’t know how to then do the check! Would anyone be able to share how I could do this? Thanks so much for your help. This is my first posting to this forum - please accept my apologies if this is not well articulated.
