Web Developer - Permanent, Full-Time

Vacancy Number: 2010/13

The Ministry for Culture and Heritage is seeking a recent graduate to
join our dynamic web development team.

This is a unique opportunity to be involved in an organisation
responsible for funding several of the nation's iconic cultural
institutions, providing advice to government on cultural matters, and
delivering high quality cultural experiences.

You will work on the Ministry's award-winning and high-profile websites
Te Ara - the Encyclopedia of New Zealand (http://www.TeAra.govt.nz ), and
New
Zealand History Online (http://www.nzhistory.net.nz), as well as the
Ministry's
corporate site (http://www.mch.govt.nz), and intranet.

This role requires a tertiary qualification in information, or web
technology, and up to a year's development experience with PHP,
Javascript, HTML, and MySQL.  Experience with Drupal and Apache would
also be desirable.  An understanding of website accessibility issues and
knowledge of, and interest in, the cultural sector would also be
advantageous.

You will report to the Chief Information Officer and will work alongside
a Senior Web Developer.
