very early stages but here is some stuff i use for testing
functionality (perl based though)

if there is interest i it i can spend some more time and make actually
a nice frontend and write some real documentation around it. the idea
is that you run tests against your platform (i use the perl testing
environment but every TAP compliant testing framework works) and graph
the outcome and react on state changes (pages not there, backends not
behaving, stuff like that).

i currently use this (with other monitoring of course) to monitor our
platforms functionality wise.
