I'm going to get brave and start learning to use some of these packages, having never really made the switch to OOP. I understand that they work well as stand alone packages for applications so I would like someone who has been through them from a security viewpoint to make a recommendation. I would like to use these as the basis for future applications i write.
Hopefully with my includes out of the root www folder and good FORM/POST data verification i should have a solid secure base for future apps. What i would like to see is tiered authorisation capabilites for my first app and the two to fit seemlesly together (not clash or duplicate tasks). More than that i cannot say without learning the ins and outs of the individual packages. I am the type of guy that likes to read the code and learn how this does what it does before using it, so perhaps inline documentation should be included in the recommended package (though all PEAR apps should be peer reviewed - right?)
