I have installed functioning versions of Symfony on both Windows and Linux.
I encountered two problems with Symfony on Windows. 1) IIS 2) no symbolic links I solved (1) by using Apache web server and (2) by creating a web server alias for the Symfony data folder like so Alias /MyProject/sf/ "c:/php/symfony/data/web/sf/" Alias /MyProject/ "c:/workspace/MyProject/web/" <Directory "c:/workspace/MyProject/web/"> AllowOverride All </Directory> in httpd.conf Getting no_script_name to work with an alias required the following tweak of .htaccess RewriteBase /MyProject Todd. > My comments stand for both dev environment and prod :) Don't use Windows. > > Kind regards, > Keri Henare > --------------------------------------------------- > Chief Technical Officer > Pixel Fusion > > [e] [email protected] > [w] pixelfusion.co.nz > [m] (+64) 021 874 552 > [p] (+64) 09 550 3084 > > Zend Certified Engineer - > http://www.zend.com/en/yellow-pages#show-ClientCandidateID=ZEND013450 > > PLEASE NOTE: I check my email 3 times per day and will respond at these > intervals.
