Just use IP addresses not domain names, the SPF spec allows numeric forms.
For example the SPF record on my primary domain is

 clement.co.nz   text = "v=spf1 ip4:67.159.45.126 ip4:67.159.49.98/24 a mx
include:slingshot.co.nz include:_spf.google.com ~all"


OTOH, the SPF for this domain name is

gnuzealand.com  text = "v=spf1 a mx ip4:67.159.45.126 ~all"


I've never noticed either domain having more problems than the other, even
when sending email from it through Google.
